Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

"we are a district of downtown made up of two unique neighborhoods-the superiors arts district and the campus communities-each with it's own" during fiscal year 2020, the campus district carried out the following work to meet our objectives: avenue of the arts, an arts event that celebrated the neighborhood's transformation from a historic garment district into a thriving arts district. The event drew 400 visitors to the neighborhood to explore open studios, special gallery exhibitions, live studio recordings, history tours, and more. 20 volunteers came together to plan and run the event. Public art development: continuing its commitment to community building and public art, campus district hosted two public art development programs in fy2020. "pole painting: 60 volunteers came together over the summer of 2019 to design and paint wooden light poles in the neighborhood. The projects aims were to build recognition for the arts district, foster new relationships between neighbors, and create a sense vibrancy in the community. Over 20 light poles were painted that spanned three streets, east 18th, east 19th, and east 21st between payne and superior avenues. "prospect avenue bridge mural: campus district partnered with two local artists, gary williams and robin robinson, and midtown inc, a neighboring community development corporation, to design a mural on the prospect avenue bridge over i-90. Throughout the process 40 volunteers came together to design the mural. Students from a local charter high school, students cleveland state university, residents, business owners, and other stakeholders came together to contribute to the design. Due to covid-19, the mural installation is delayed until further notice, but the designs were completed in fy 2020. "payne avenue placemaking: for the second year in a row campus district partnered with local artist-across the lines and guy-vincent, eighth graders from the local middle school, and women from the community's homeless shelter to develop artwork. This year's project was called "block by block". Participants conveyed, on wooden blocks, what their neighborhood is like now and what they hope for it to be in the future. In addition to creating artwork, the students developed relationships with the women experiencing homelessness in our community. 20 volunteers participated. Community programming: campus district develops programming that brings community members together to share their perspectives, create, and contribute. "community clean-ups: fy20's fall clean-up drew 40 people to clean two major corridors in the neighborhood-east 22nd street and east 30th street. The participants shared lunch together and participated in a facilitated discussion on race and equity in our community. Students from the local community college, students from the state university, residents from the surrounding neighborhood, and more participated. Due to covid-19 the spring clean-up was cancelled. "women & print: campus district partnered with two local community arts organizations, cleveland print room and zygote press, to develop a program for 10 women to learn the art of dark room photography and print making. The program aimed to bring new people into these neighborhood spaces and express themselves creatively. The program conducted half of its sessions before being indefinitely postponed due to covid-19. "superior gatherings: 25 residents met quarterly for community meetings where ideas and concerns were voiced.

The superior initiative continued to work with rta on plans for art stop, a bus shelter that will act as a rotating art gallery.
