Major Activities

Activity 2

Family services - resources, referrals, support, and advocacy services to west side families whose children have been placed in foster care, or who are at risk of county involvement due to financial hardship, physical or mental illness, parenting issues, etc. These services were provided to 1,226 families in 2012 with 3,678 children under the age of 18. Over 9,800 referrals were made for these families linking them with services in the community to help stabilize them and provide needed supports. Many families actively participate in the wraparound program, a family voice and choice-driven process whereby their needs are addressed through an in-depth planning process utilizing professionals as well as natural supports.

Activity 3

Tapestry system of care - serves system involved youth with behavioral or mental health conditions and their families. 217 families with 651 children under the age of 18 received services in 2012. Parent advocates and youth advocates help assist families to reach their goals and work to link them to resources within the community. Monthly support groups are held at the center. Informative speakers, childcare and a youth group are offered as well as dinner during the meetings. We conducted 22 parent support groups and 23 youth group meetings in 2012 attended by over 140 people.
