Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Aims to reduce countywide homelessness while addressing each family's personal struggle with perpetuating homelessness and poverty in their children. Provides both transitional shelter and rapid re-housing options in addition to cycle-breaking essential services including: housing navigation, case management, budgeting/financial management, employment services, life-skills, and mental health services. Services for adults help decrease overall family homelessness, while giving the children the skills needed to break the future cycle. IHS is committed to promoting national and county-wide objectives by providing low-income homeless families with stable/safe housing, as well as supporing expanded economic and employment opportunities. IHS is not just short-term relief. Goals are clearly defined and include: increased income (employment), stable permanent housing, long-term personal growth, and eventual self-sufficiency.

To break the cycle of homelessness in the Inland Empire, by providing housing, case management, and ongoing support to families who have no place to live. This mission aims to reduce countywide homelessness while addressing each family's personal struggle with perpetuating homelessness and poverty in their children.

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, line 2

ITH is proud to announce the expansion of services with the addition of the Housing Search and Stabilization team. With this amazing addition, ITH has been asked by the SBC Homeless Partnership and the Interagency Council on Homelessness to provide Housing Search and Stabilization services to agencies within the Coordinated Entry System. While this is a big endeavor, we are excited to be the leader in providing specialized housing services to the homeless. This new project will allow ITH to expand housing populations, assist more families, and positions ITH for a strong future.

Form 990; Part XII; Question 2C

There have been no changes in the oversight of the audit or the selection process used to determine who the independent accountant will be.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

In accordance with accounting standards, which provide accounting and disclosure guidance about uncertain tax positions taken by an Organization, Management believes that all of the positions taken by the Organization in its federal and state income tax returns are more likely than not to be sustained upon examination. Inland Temporary Homes files returns in the US Federal jurisdiction and the State of California. The Organizations federal income tax returns for the prior three years remain subject to examination by the Internal Revenue Service. The Organization's California income tax returns for the prior four years remain subject to examination by the Franchise Tax Board.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0In accordance with accounting standards, which provide accounting and disclosure guidance about uncertain tax positions taken by an Organization, Management believes that all of the positions taken by the Organization in its federal and state income tax returns are more likely than not to be sustained upon examination.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0ITH is proud to announce the expansion of services with the addition of the Housing Search and Stabilization team.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1Facilities were provided at a discounted lease cost to ITH for the year. A board member also made a personal loan to ITH with a maturity date of May 2018.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2Each board member receives, reviews and approves the return.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt3Each year the organization provides a copy of the Conflict of Interest Policy to their employees and officers. They must sign a statement verifying that they read and understand the policy.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt4Upon written request the organization will make available the governing documents, policies and/or financial statements.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt5There have been no changes in the oversight of the audit or the selection process used to determine who the independent accountant will be.
