IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc0Slab and Plank Full-scale Testing - Full-scale load testing of segmental concrete planks and paving slabs for partial validation of finite element modeling-based structural design tables.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc1University of Toronto PICP Winter Operation & Maintenance - Evaluation of effectiveness of machines for cleaning permeable interlocking concrete pavement surfaces; evaluation of deicer use on same to determine reductions.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc2PICP Evaluation - Wisconsin - Support of water quality analysis sampled from permeable pavements constructed and monitored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; pavements process runoff from a heavily used adjacent asphalt parking lot that drains into the permeable pavements.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc3ASCE LID Retrofit Project: This effort is part of a retrofit of several LID technologies within a large asphalt parking lot that surrounds the ASCE office building. As the promoters of LID tools, ASCE leadership wanted to set the example at the home office. The PICP was designed according to a national standard, ASCE 68-18 on Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavement. The pavement can store and infiltrate rainfall for a maximum 100-year storm.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc4PICP LCCA Case Study and Tools - Development of Excel-based tool to model on- and off-site costs and benefits of permeable interlocking concrete pavements; development and deployment of training on using same; development of case studies and literature on permeable pavement life cycle cost analysis.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc5PathVU Paver Smoothness - Measurement of segmental concrete pavement sidewalks and plazas using US Access Board-established criteria for wheelchair use accessibility; the smoothness measurement method is based on an ASTM standard.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc6Municipal ICP Performance Modeling - Life cycle cost analysis comparison of interlocking concrete pavements compared to conventional pavements in small, medium and large urban areas.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc7Pedestal-Set Paving Slab Testing- This project conducts center load testing on 2 x 2 ft (600 x 600 mm) dry-cast and hydraulically pressed paving slabs, 50 and 60 mm thick. These sizes are typically used in pedestal-set applications. The objective of the research is to validate a 2000 lb center load test method for presentation to ASTM with a draft test method. Center load test results will be correlated to slab flexural strength per ASTM C1782 and C140 as well. For the first testing phase, 40 paving slabs are being donated each from three ICPI member manufacturers. Donations include shipping to NCMA. The paving slabs are expected to arrive at NCMA this month and load testing should begin in December. Results are expected by the 2021 annual meeting. A second phase will test paving slabs from a range of manufacturers.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc8Job Task Analysis-ICPI Education Department- Nocti Business Solutions (NBS) will conduct a task analysis from a gathering of experienced, ICPI contractor members. They will develop construction steps and skills needed for installing pavers. The steps provide the basis for developing segmental paving as an apprenticeship and construction trade. Moreover, the deliverables can refine ICPI's existing installer certification and specialist courses, as well as calibrate the certification course exam to the task analysis. An in-person meeting with contractor members originally scheduled for this month until March 2021. This event may be held virtually. Once initiated, this project can be completed in less than six months.

IRS990ScheduleA/Form990ScheduleAPartVIGrp/ExplanationTxt0The Foundation and its supported organization, Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (the Institute), are included in a consolidated audit report and the same independent accountant prepares the Federal Form(s) 990 for both the Foundation and the Institute. As part of the 990 preparation process, the independent accountant prepares a public support test each year for the Institute to ensure the supported 501(c)(6) Institute would pass the public support test under 509(a)(2).
IRS990ScheduleA/Form990ScheduleAPartVIGrp/ExplanationTxt1The supported organization, Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute, is a 501(c)(6) organization that has calculated and has passed the public support test under 509(a)(2) for the current tax year. (Line 10, Part I)
IRS990ScheduleA/Form990ScheduleAPartVIGrp/ExplanationTxt2The Foundation supports the 170(c)(2)(B) educational and research activities of its supported organization. All support from the Foundation to the Institute is specicially designated and used for such purposes.
