Mission

To promote the belief that all people have the right to live free from violence by providing support and advocacy services for victims and education for youth and our community. This is done by enhancing safety for victims, families, and the community; securing justice for victims; and educating and engaging the community to respond to and prevent violence.

To assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. We work to ensure victim's rights are exercised and needs met.

To promote the belief that all people have the right to live free from violence by providing support and advocacy services for victims and education for youth and our community. This is done by enhancing safety for victims, families, and the community; securing justice for victims; and educating and engaging the community to respond to and prevent violence.

Form 990, Page 1, Part I, Line 6

The majority of volunteers are crisis advocates who respond to the hotline or on-scene requests to provide immediate crisis intervention support and advocacy services (3,318 hours plus 150 hours of attendance at trainings). Other volunteers assist at special events/fundraisers for the agency (210 volunteer hours provided). The board of directors, 7 total individuals for the year, provided 64 hours for meeting attendance.

Utilization of rights occurred for criminal justice cases. Beyond direct victim services, rise works to prevent violence through educational awareness initiatives, with a major focus on outreaching youth. 887students participated in 230 violence prevention presentations, including youth rise high school elective class, and wise teens support groups. 97 allied professionals were trained; 45 training workshops or community education presentations were provided. Trainings and community education projects raise awareness and skills for responders on domestic, dating, and sexual violence dynamics, trends, and responses particular to their profession or the general public.

Insurance settlement 225,236 on october 22, 2016, a fire in the organization's building resulted in the total loss of the office condominium and all equipment and furniture in the suite. As of the date of these financial statements, the organization has received a total of 250,236 in insurance payments for the loss of the office condominium, payoff of remaining mortgage, furniture, and equipment, and 25,718 for rent of a temporary office lease and phone installation. The total gain for the year ended december 31, 2017, was 225,236.
