Ohio Healthy Homes Network

“The mission of the Ohio Healthy Homes Network is to promote healthy, safe and affordable housing for people of all ages. OHHNs purpose is to increase public awareness of health and safety hazards in the home, provide education and networking opportunities for the healthy homes field; develop public policies that improve the health, safety and affordability of housing; and empower parents in communities affected by home health and safety hazards to advocate on behalf of their families and communities. Program Service Accomplishments DetailOHHN presented a Spring Forum on June 9 in partnership with the University of Cincinnati titled Reducing Lead, Mold, Asthma Triggers and Poor Indoor Air Quality in Ohios Housing. 50 were in attendance. On Nov. 29, OHHN presented a one-day healthy homes training in partnership with the Ohio Department of Health. 23 attended. On Nov. 30, OHHN presented a Fall Forum in Columbus titled Integrating Housing Management and Development with Health Outcomes. 50 were in attendance. Program Service AccomplishmentThe OHHN website, www.ohhn.org, received many updates in 2016 including revised county listings of resources in the directory; publicity and presentations were posted for the Spring and Fall Healthy Homes Forums, and the Healthy Homes Essentials training; and new slides of photos from spring and fall forums on the home page. OHHNs website had a 100% increase in traffic from 2015 to 2016.”
