Activity 2

Each season, CAA presents an eclectic season of approximately one dozen performing arts events from around the world designed to reach diverse audiences, with special attention to serving the Tri-state's minority communities (African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic/Latino, etc.). Past presenting events have included Sweet Honey in the Rock, The Chieftains, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Tango Flamenco, The Peking Acrobats, Vienna Boys Choir, Tiempo Libre, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Kodo Drummers, Afro-Cuban All Stars, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

Activity 3

CAA's Education Department promotes life-long learning through its programs, which are diverse, multidisciplinary, and accessible to all ages and cultural groups. SchoolTime presents a series of programs that feature nationally-recognized artists at CAA's two venues, and Artists on Tour schedules 30 local artists in Tri-state schools for interactive arts experiences aligned with the curriculum. The Overture Awards Competition and Academy recognizes, encourages and rewards excellence in the arts among Tri-state high school students. It is the largest annual arts scholarship program of its kind in the United States, with nearly 500 participants representing 100 public, private, parochial, charter, and home schools from Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. The annual solo competition offers scholarships and training in one or more of six artistic disciplines: Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Theater, and Visual Art.
