Additional Explanations

Pt VI, Line 11B

The Organization's Finance Committee reviews the detail of the draft Form 990 filing with the Executive Director and Treasurer. Then each member of the Board of Trustees is provided a draft copy of the Form 990 for their consideration before filing.

Pt VI, Line 12C

The conflict of interest policy is discussed annually at the January Board of Trustees planning meeting. Board members acknowledge they have no conflicts of interest by signed diclosures.

The compensation of the Executive Director is determined by the Executive Committee, the Board of Trustees, and the Finance Committee each year during the annual budgeting process. The budget is reviewed and approved by the entire Board of Trustees at the annual planning meeting each January. The performance of the Executive Director is monitored by the Board of Trustees and formally evaluated by the Executive Committee each year. The budget process serves as a review of other key employee compensation amounts, but these are established at the discretion of the Executive Director.

The Organization is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. FASB ASC 740 clarifies the accounting for uncertain tax positions recognized in a entity's financial statements. The Organization believes it has no uncertain tax positions. The Organization's federal Form 990 for the years ended December 31, 2017 and forward remain open to examination as of the date of this report.
