Activity 2

Leadership for ohio's philanthropic sector: ogf provided leadership for organized philanthropy in the state by (1) serving as aspokesperson for foundations among various external audiences, including placing articles in the public media (22 media stories in 2011), meetings with federal and state level policy makers, (in washington, dc and in congressional district meetings) and through interaction with federal and state regulators, including the internal revenue service and the ohio attorney general, (2) providing opportunities for philanthropy's voice to be heard in statewide education policy reform through our education initiative, including statewide convenings of representatives of education stakeholder groups and regional meetings for local foundations and community leaders, (3) ogf's health initiative engages philanthropy to help state policy makers implement health care reform in ohio, to identify ways to collaborate and to support policy changes to improve the health care system in ohio.

Activity 3

Knowledge management: ogf answered 164 requests for information in 2011, produced 64 newsletters read by over 1,300 people, agrantmaking outlook 2011 report, ohio community foundation roster, state and ohio specific salary survey, and ohio state ofphilanthropy 2011. Ogf's website was a leading source of knowledge, providing access to over 600 sample documents and referencematerials. Ogf's 7 electronic listservs allowed members to learn from peers, with 419 participating by either asking or answering questions
