Community care: consumer credit counseling service (cccs) helped nearly 3,000 people experience one-on-one financial counseling and helped 1,140 people manage their debts through the cccs debt management program. Cccs enabled 42 families to become homeowners and helped 386 families to avoid foreclosure. Nearly 1,000 individuals received bankruptcy pre-filing counseling and 400 individuals received bankruptcy pre-discharge financial education. Approximately 1,620 individuals learned how to manage their finances through financial education classes or workshops. Another 3,000 individuals learned about available services through outreach presentations. An additional 3,100 individuals benefited from responses by cccs to financially related inquiries. Friends at home empowered senior volunteers to provide companionship services that supported independent seniors in their desire to live in their homes longer. Eighteen people helped to initiate the program in its first year through 73 hours of service. Homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing program provided financial assistance for rent and rent arrears to prevent 62 families, consisting of 147 individuals, from losing their housing in montgomery county. Interfaith care team ministry provided case management services to 52 families in targeted neighborhoods. In addition, emergency assistance was provided to more than 544 individuals through this program. The preble county emergency assistance program provided food, clothing and financial assistance for shelter, utilities and medications to 5,146 individuals. Thousands more received affordable clothing and household items at the once around thrift shop in eaton. Senior companion program provided fulfilling opportunities for 49 income-eligible older adults to provide friendship and assistance through more than 45,151 hours of faithful service to 261 elderly persons who were able to maintain independence in their own homes. Volunteer services provided opportunities for 132 volunteers to faithfully care for the needs of those whom we serve through 51,470 hours of various subsidized charitable services. Community care provided $427,063 in uncompensated charitable services during the period to people who needed counseling and to people with limited resources.
