Mission

Mission statementthe hudson area backpack program seeks to assist students/families experiencing food insecurity by providing food and basic items of daily living. The program is offered to all students, pre-k through 12th grade, attending a hudson, wi public or private school.goalsto increase access to food, including fresh fruits and vegetables, to students/families in the hudson, wi school district who are experiencing food insecurity.to continually address the diverse food insecurity needs of each student population and to provide them access to food in a model of delivery that is relevant and convenient to their situations.to raise awareness in our community about food insecurity affecting students/families who may be struggling economically.

Continuation of Program Service Accomplishments Part III, Line 4a. During fiscal year ending 6-30-2023, we distributed 2,880 backpacks containing 23,470 pounds of food, served 400 housholds a month at our Drive Through Distribution and served 396 students weekly at the middle and high school. Partnerships were also established with other local organizations. During Fiscal year 2023-20204 35,016 individuals were served, 11,694 households were served with 761,098 pounds of food was distributed. In July 2024, the Fresh Harvest Pantry was opened which increased household visits by 30% each month. We expect this trend to continue thru the end of 2024. Children served grew at a rate of 60%, and seniors served grew 105% in 2023-2024.

During fiscal year ending 6-30-2023, we distributed 2,880 backpacks containing 23,470 pounds of food, served 400 housholds a month at our Drive Through Distribution and served 396 students weekly at the middle and high school. Partnerships were also established with other local organizations. During Fiscal year 2023-20204 35,016 individuals were served, 11,694 households were served with 761,098 pounds of food was distributed. In July 2024, the Fresh Harvest Pantry was opened which increased household visits by 30% each month. We expect this trend to continue thru the end of 2024. Children served grew at a rate of 60%, and seniors served grew 105% in 2023-2024.
