Somerset preparatory academy public charter school board has delegated authority to the executive committee to make reviews and recommendations on behalf of the governing body. The executive committee composition includes the board chair, board treasure, and compliance chair. Scope of the executive committee includes: -serve as the ultimate steward of the mission of the organization. -recruit, support, and review the ceo. -provide effective and appropriate financial oversight. -promote the organization and enhance its public reputation. -ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability. -recruit and orient new board members and assess board performance.

A draft of the form 990 is delivered to management and the board of trustees. The board of trustees review the form 990 and discuss any changes or recommendations. Once the draft is approved, form 990 is filed by the audit firm.

Cambridge preparatory academy dc has analyzed its tax positions, and has concluded that no liability for unrecognized tax benefits are expected be recorded related to any uncertain tax positions taken on returns filed for open tax years (2011-2012), or expected to be taken in its 2013 tax return.
