“Canines with a cause trained and placed twelve (12) service teams in 2024. Prison-based dog training programs are no longer utilized; placing dogs in local foster homes allows trainers to supervise early training and introduce them to prospective veterans. Cwac has been involved with the walter reed military hospital soldier rehabilitation program and the uniformed services university of the health sciences' wounded warrior service dog program since 2018. Cwac is dedicated to serving this program, and we were honored to participate. The goal of the wwsdp is to facilitate the provision of service dogs to military beneficiaries and veterans. The objectives of the wwsdp is to work collaboratively with non-profit service dog training organizations to share best practices in the training of service dogs, the education and matching of service dogs with qualifying service members and veterans, safety practices to protect dogs and the public, and the use of date-driven decisions to help improvement of existing programs and service dog certification for post-traumatic stress, military sexual trauma and traumatic brain injury dogs for service members and veterans. Participation in this program helped create the tools to achieve our goals for veterans, service members, first responders, and the dogs that support them on their journey.”

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE WWSDP IS TO WORK COLLABORATIVELY WITH NON-PROFIT SERVICE DOG TRAINING ORGANIZATIONS TO SHARE BEST PRACTICES IN THE TRAINING OF SERVICE DOGS, THE EDUCATION AND MATCHING OF SERVICE DOGS WITH QUALIFYING SERVICE MEMBERS AND VETERANS, SAFETY PRACTICES TO PROTECT DOGS AND THE PUBLIC, AND THE USE OF DATE-DRIVEN DECISIONS TO HELP IMPROVEMENT OF EXISTING PROGRAMS AND SERVICE DOG CERTIFICATION FOR POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS, MILITARY SEXUAL TRAUMA AND TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY DOGS FOR SERVICE MEMBERS AND VETERANS.
