Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

Catch does not have any committees with authority to act on behalf of the governing body.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Catch's executive director, board president, and board treasurer review a draft copy of the form 990 prior to filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Catch's conflict of interest policy is monitored and enforced through the use of annual certification questionaires. The conflict of interest policy covers the officers and directors of the organization, and is reviewed by the governing body on an annual basis. When necessary, actual conflicts are reviewed by the executive director and the officers of the board of directors. Restrictions are imposed on the individual with the conflict based on the nature of the conflict.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The executive director's compensation is determined through a market study and arms-length negotiation. It is reviewed by the entire board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Catch's governing documents, conflict of interest policy, financial statements, and annual tax return are available to the public upon request.

Supplemental Narrative

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The accounting standard on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes addresses the determination of whether tax benefits claimed or expected to be claimed on a tax return should be recorded in the financial statements. Under that guidance, the organization may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities based on the technical merits of the position. The tax benefits recognized in the financial statements from such a position are measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50 percent likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement. There were no unrecognized tax benefits identified or recorded as liabilities for 2023 or 2022. The organization files form 990 in the u.s. Federal jurisdiction. The organization is no longer subject to examination by the internal revenue service for years before 2020.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0THE ACCOUNTING STANDARD ON ACCOUNTING FOR UNCERTAINTY IN INCOME TAXES ADDRESSES THE DETERMINATION OF WHETHER TAX BENEFITS CLAIMED OR EXPECTED TO BE CLAIMED ON A TAX RETURN SHOULD BE RECORDED IN THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.
