“The organization has not provided a complete copy of this Form 990 to all members of its governing body before filing the form. However, the Board of Directors reviews the financial reports of the organization on a quarterly basis, and these reports are used to fill out the Form 990. The Form 990 will be made available, in full, to the Board of Directors at the end-of-year meeting. An Officer of the Board will authenticate this form.”

“The organization does have a written conflict of interest policy, as part of our bylaws. Officers, directors and key employees are required to disclose annually interests that could give rise to conflicts, and this is reviewed at quarterly and/or annual board meetings.”

“The process for determining compensation of the Artistic and Executive Director includes an annual review and approval by independent persons on the Board of Directors, and contemporaneous substantiation of the deliberation and decision. The employee in question abstains from the vote relating to compensation for her position. There are no other employees at this time. Board member Dora Arreola also received an artistic contract from the organization in 2018, as a faculty member of the National Institute for Directing and Ensemble Creation, unrelated to board service.”

“The organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public during the tax year, upon request via email, which is public on our website.”

“Other Services include: contracts to performing, visual and theatre artists of $7450 in artist fees and commissions; plus $88,602 in contracts related to our Veteran Arts Program, including a coordinator, evaluation consultant, graduate student assistant, and a VA research team conducting a pilot study; plus $5050 in contracts for photo and video documentation of events.”
