“Election of members and their rights subject to the authority of the board of directors to designate and appoint one or more committees as provided in these bylaws, all corporate powers shall be exercised by or under autority of, and the affairs and property of fba shall be controlled by its board of directors, which shall consist of not less that three (3) and not more that ten (10) directors (not including any es officio directiors). The number of directors may be increased or decreased form time to time by a majority vote of the board of directors; but in no event shall the board of directors consist of less than three (3) directors. In the event the number of directors is increased, the vacancies so created will be filled in the manner specified in sect 5.4 of the articles. There shall be no special qualifications for eligibility for membership on the board of directors; and a person need not be resident of the state of new mexico to be eligible for election or appointment as director. Ex officio directors shall be non-voting members of the board of directors, and shall not be counted in the determination of a quorum.”

“Artistically, fba continues to serve the community with critically acclaimed theatrical productions while training young dancers who may wish to dance professionally as a career. Fba is a pre-professional regional dance company augmented by local professional dance artists who find work opportunities with fba. 2015 performances at national hispanic cultural center (nhcc): in may, fba presented the iconic work by legendary choreographer george balanchine, "valse fantasie", with permission of the new york city ballet george balanchine trust. On this same program, fba provided the opportunity for 5 young choreographers to present fully produced ballets. In december, in partnership with nhcc, the city of albuquerque, bernalillo county and new mexico arts, fba performed 5 public performances of "nutcracker in the land of enchantment" which provided work opportunities for over 80 local professional dancers, musicians, and stage technicians including lighting, music and costume designers. Additionally, a free performance was given to over 600 clients of 15 health and human service organizations throughout the state, including domestically abused women and children, a large homeless population and several senior centers. Fba outreach includes city sponsored history of dance performances free of charge to the host, being given on-site at title 1-aps elementary schools and senior centers. Additionally, fba performs six presentations of "peter and the wolf" in collaboration with the new mexico philharmonic, including one dedicated performance for those suffering from autism. Fba continues to be the only dance company from new mexico that is a member of regional dance america, a nationally recognized organization of over 100 companies from throughout the us and canada. Fba dancers traveled to monroe, louisiana in march performing two ballet works that were chosen by a national adjudicator for presentation. Thus fba is gaining notoriety throughout the southwest for excellence in the performing arts.”
