THIS PROJECT FOCUSED ON BRIDGING THE MILITARY-CIVILIAN DIVIDE AND INCLUDED FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM LONG TIME VAP PARTNER GOT YOUR SIX, WHO PARTICIPATED WITH VCH AND VAP IN PRODUCING MEDIA AND ENGAGING VETERANS AND KEY CIVILIAN CONSTITUENCIES IN LOCAL VENUES ACROSS THE NATION. THE VCH PROJECT EMBODIED THE CORE VAP MISSION OF FOSTERING, ENCOURAGING AND PROMOTING VETERANS IN THE ARTS. VETERANS AND VETERAN ORGANIZATIONS WERE TRAINED, MENTORED AND EMBEDDED IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE PROJECT, INCLUDING STRATEGIC PLANNING AND PREPRODUCTION, PRODUCTION AND DISSEMINATION OF VIDEOS AND SOCIAL MEDIA, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. VAP AND VCH PARTNERED TO CREATE A MATRIX OF STORIES ACROSS MULTIPLE DIGITAL PLATFORMS THAT CHALLENGED POPULAR STEREOTYPES OF VETERANS AND REVEAL THE MYRIAD POSITIVE WAYS THAT THEY ARE TRANSFORMING THE LANDSCAPE OF OUR COUNTRY. SCHULTZ FAMILY FOUNDATION MUSTER VIDEOS VAP WAS ASKED TO DEVELOP, PRODUCE AND EDIT THREE VIDEOS, EACH APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES LONG, TO BE PRESENTED AT THE MUSTER ON APRIL 14, 2016, IN WASHINGTON, DC. THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN JP MORGAN CHASE (JPMC), SCHULTZ FAMILY FOUNDATION AND STARBUCKS BROUGHT TOGETHER OVER 200 CORPORATIONS FOCUSED ON EMPLOYMENT RETENTION AND VETERAN-LED SERVICE. Veterans coming home (vch) veteran artist program (vap) was a lead partner with veterans coming home (vch), an innovative multi-platform public media initiative of kindling group together with the corporation for public broadcasting. This project focused on bridging the military-civilian divide and included financial support from long time vap partner got your six, who participated with vch and vap in producing media and engaging veterans and key civilian constituencies in local venues across the nation. The vch project embodied the core vap mission of fostering, encouraging and promoting veterans in the arts. Veterans and veteran organizations were trained, mentored and embedded in all aspects of the project, including strategic planning and preproduction, production and dissemination of videos and social media, and community engagement. They worked together with civilians towards the common goal of bridging the divide and focusing on veteran reintegration as an american opportunity rather than a societal problem. Vap and vch partnered to create a matrix of stories across multiple digital platforms that challenged popular stereotypes of veterans and reveal the myriad positive ways that they are transforming the landscape of our country. The vch production team included veteran and civilian filmmakers, photographers, writers and artists, who represented divergent backgrounds and world-views. Their experiences and the stories they encountered formed the backbone of a dynamic, real-time social media campaign and a compelling series of short digital videos. The project culminated in june 2016 with the release of a 10-part digital series on the pbs digital portal chronicling the experiences of the production team. Eleven pbs/npr stations around the country served as production and engagement partners. Successes: o veterans coming home's most successful content was its video content, which reached the widest audience. O comments on veterans coming home posts were very positive in nature. O the themes of comedy and the warrior class were highly successful among a general and highly engaged audience, respectively. In the future, more content using these themes may yield positive results and engage those who are currently less engaged. By creating a matrix of engaging stories across multiple digital platforms, vch challenged popular stereotypes of veterans and revealed the myriad ways that they continue to transform their communities for the better.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 29

Schultz family foundation muster videos vap was asked to develop, produce and edit three videos, each approximately 2 minutes long, to be presented at the muster on april 14, 2016, in washington, dc. The partnership between jp morgan chase (jpmc), schultz family foundation and starbucks brought together over 200 corporations focused on employment retention and veteran-led service. This unique gathering and collaborative effort focused on the next step in the veteran empowerment movement and created a call to action for public and private sector stakeholders to continue to serve alongside veterans. The intent of the videos was to introduce key leaders and vips to the concept of the muster and opportunities for their companies, organizations and networks to continue to engage veterans in an intentional way. Vap's ability to bring veterans into the storytelling process and deliver a world-class product allowed the foundation to have a "story behind the story", highlighting veteran artists' role in creating and producing media content. Vap delivered 3 separate videos and worked with veteran filmmakers, editors, producers and researchers across the country as part of this unique project. Veterans in seattle, washington d.c and new york city participated in on-set mentorship with professional filmmakers to create value for all involved. Vap's mission of mentorship through production not only provides an opportunity for veteran artists, but also allows for sincere dialogue between veterans and non-veterans around the issues returning veterans face. Additionally, vap's model of providing storytelling services to corporations focuses the mentorship around a quality deliverable, showcasing talent and opportunity in the same project.

THE VCH PROJECT EMBODIED THE CORE VAP MISSION OF FOSTERING, ENCOURAGING AND PROMOTING VETERANS IN THE ARTS. VETERANS AND VETERAN ORGANIZATIONS WERE TRAINED, MENTORED AND EMBEDDED IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE PROJECT, INCLUDING STRATEGIC PLANNING AND PREPRODUCTION, PRODUCTION AND DISSEMINATION OF VIDEOS AND SOCIAL MEDIA, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. THEY WORKED TOGETHER WITH CIVILIANS TOWARDS THE COMMON GOAL OF BRIDGING THE DIVIDE AND FOCUSING ON VETERAN REINTEGRATION AS AN AMERICAN OPPORTUNITY RATHER THAN A SOCIETAL PROBLEM. VAP AND VCH PARTNERED TO CREATE A MATRIX OF STORIES ACROSS MULTIPLE DIGITAL PLATFORMS THAT CHALLENGED POPULAR STEREOTYPES OF VETERANS AND REVEAL THE MYRIAD POSITIVE WAYS THAT THEY ARE TRANSFORMING THE LANDSCAPE OF OUR COUNTRY. THE VCH PRODUCTION TEAM INCLUDED VETERAN AND CIVILIAN FILMMAKERS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, WRITERS AND ARTISTS, WHO REPRESENTED DIVERGENT BACKGROUNDS AND WORLD-VIEWS. THEIR EXPERIENCES AND THE STORIES THEY ENCOUNTERED FORMED THE BACKBONE OF A DYNAMIC, REAL-TIME SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN AND A COMPELLING SERIES OF SHORT DIGITAL VIDEOS. THE PROJECT CULMINATED IN JUNE 2016 WITH THE RELEASE OF A 10-PART DIGITAL SERIES ON THE PBS DIGITAL PORTAL CHRONICLING THE EXPERIENCES OF THE PRODUCTION TEAM. ELEVEN PBS/NPR STATIONS AROUND THE COUNTRY SERVED AS PRODUCTION AND ENGAGEMENT PARTNERS. SUCCESSES: O VETERANS COMING HOME'S MOST SUCCESSFUL CONTENT WAS ITS VIDEO CONTENT, WHICH REACHED THE WIDEST AUDIENCE. O COMMENTS ON VETERANS COMING HOME POSTS WERE VERY POSITIVE IN NATURE.
