IRS990/Desc0In 2019, HIP galvanized academics and community leaders within the field of heroism science, impacted more international youth and community organizations, and reached more high school students with core programming. That same year, HIP also produced the Hero Round Table (HRT), a licensed program of a separate organization, which was originally designed to be an annual production that could bring together everyday heroes to share their stories with audiences from around the San Francisco Bay Area. The HIP Board of Directors felt that this event could help promote the mission and vision of the organization and potentially grow revenue to support operations and other areas of programming. Unfortunately, HIP ended 2018 with a deficit because of unnecessarily high production costs, unanticipated marketing challenges and production management design issues. As a result, the Board of Directors decided that the organization would not pursue continuing the HRT program in 2019, but would instead invest in strategic planning with the creation of a new 3 year business plan, board development and creation of a new curriculum with a new sales strategy. Through this, HIP intends to re-align its mission, vision and programming to generate new revenue streams and have more focused impact and outreach to diverse underserved populations.
