Board members and officers have a duty to disclose any actual or possible conflict of interest for the deliberation of the other board members prior to proceeding.”

“At this time, the board members of security b-sides handle all management of the organization without compensation. There are no paid management officials or other employees of the organization. If there were, the board of directors would decide the salary and benefits based on compensation of executive directors of organizations of similar size, field, and location to security b-sides.”

“As a community-driven event (done for and by the community), without the work of volunteers, the event would not be possible. The organizers (all volunteers as well) have worked hard to build a fun and exciting agenda. In order to execute this event and make it successful, we rely on volunteers to help with the tasks on the two days of the event which include, but are not limited to: registration / information, audio / visual, room moderators / security, speaker wrangling, and top secret undercover missions.”
