“Organizations exempt purpose:to develop tomorrows global leaders through educational programs geared toward middle and high school students designed to bring understanding and engagement with international issues.program definition:the world affairs challenge program (wac) consists of three parts. Part one, the formal presentation, includes student team study of a select global issue development of a problem statement and proposed solution that is creatively developed into a presentation. That presentation is then made at the wac in front of a panel of judges. Part two, the collaborative question, is a problem solving exercise where members of different teams are assembled ad hoc to analyze a new global issue,develop a problem statement and solution and present to a panel of program definition contd:judges all on the fly in a 45 minute period. The third element is an online global quiz. Following the competition, students are connected to a network of universities and organizations where they can continue their development into global thinkers, doers and leaders. Significant achievements this past year include:significant fundraising event featuring peter yarrow of peter, paul & mary. Wac team participation included teams from kansas city and some international teams strengthened ties with local rotary clubs to support our programs.”
