“Organizations exempt purpose:to develop tomorrows global leaders through educational programs geared toward middle and high school students designed to bring understanding and engagement with international issues.achievements this past year:the world affairs challenge program (wac) consists of three parts. Part one, the formal presentation, includes student team study of a select global issue (in 2015 this was the global gender gap), development of a problem statement and proposed solution that is creatively developed into a presentation. That presentation is then made at the wac in front of a panel of judges. Part two, the collaborative question, is a problem solving exercise where members of different teams are assembled ad hoc to analyze a new global issue, accomplishments for 2014 contd:develop a problem statement and solution and present to a panel of judges all on the fly in a 45 minute period. The third element is an online global quiz. Following the competition, students are connected to a network of universities and organizations where they can continue their development into global thinkers, doers and leaders. Significant achievements this past year include:first ever participation by international teams. Teams from pakistan, kenya and brazil participated via pre-recorded presentations. Team participation grew by nearly 50% over 2014 and included a team from kansas city in addition to the core colorado teams.won the posner center collaboration grant and participated with the facing history and ourselves organization to determine better methods in reaching middle and high schools to garner participation in programs.strengthened ties with local rotary clubs to support our programs.created donor information brochure.held meeting with potential advisory committee members soliciting input to improve fundraising efforts and program offerings.”
