IRS990ScheduleF/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0Grant funds are sent based on detailed budgets and consultation about program needs with in-country staff. Komera's Executive Director conducts week-long site visits at least twice a year to monitor implementation of planned programs. The Executive Director has personal relationships with Komera scholars and is very involved in planning and implementation of grant-funded programs. Furthermore, detailed accounting of all expenditures in-country are reported back to the US office quarterly.
IRS990ScheduleF/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1Expenses were made by appropriate staff in order to complete approved program plans. Receipts were collected where possible and expenses were coded and entered into an accounting system that drew down on the funds Komera sent. Reports were produced for Komera to review on a quarterly basis.
IRS990ScheduleF/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2Komera funds as many scholars as fundraising and staff capacity allow. Komera ensures it has funding for all 3 years of a girl's education before accepting her as a scholar. The number of Komera Scholars increases annually.
