Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 1

The executive committee consists of the President, Vice President, Board Chair, and a Board Director. The committee has the authority of the Board of Directors in the management of the Corporation. The delegation thereto of authority shall not operate to relieve the Board of Directors, or any individual Director, of any responsibility imposed on him or her by law.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11B

Form 990 is prepared by an independent CPA firm and reviewed in detail by the organization's top management. The reviewed Form 990 is then provided to the board of directors prior to filing with the IRS.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12C

Each fiscal year, all corporation representatives are required to file a statement with the Secretary of the corporation that lists their directorships, memberships, or other relationships which might cause the individual or their spouse to be biased or otherwise partial in any business or charitable matter involving the corporation. The Secretary reviews signed statements and ensures compliance with the policy. If a matter related to a potential conflict were to arise at a board meeting, the interested person would abstain from voting on matters related to the noted conflict.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15

Question 15a - The Chairman of the Board approves compensation for the CEO. Question 15b - The organization does not compensate any other officers or key employees. Therefore, this line was answered no in accordance with the instructions.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19

The organization will make available, upon written request, its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements.

IRS990/Desc0Since its inception in 2009, the Organization has laid a global network of strategic ministry relationships with audio providers, technology suppliers, in-field ministries, prayer partners and funding partners. The primary vision of the Organization: With access to the recorded Word of God, families, tribes, and nations will live transformed for His glory. It is the Organization's mission to create opportunities for oral learners to fully experience the Bible in their home language. The Organization accomplishes this mission through program services described below:Missions Awareness and Outreach - The Organization helps connect and equip partners serving oral learning communities by (a) producing high quality recordings of audio scripture, (b) building awareness about the need for audio scripture to reach oral learners around the world, and (c) working along side international organizations to secure translations, identify people groups in need, and work with ministry partners to facilitate engagement and distribution of audio recordings to the remote regions of the world. In 2019, the Organization expanded its recording activities, going from seven to eight full Bible recordings per year to between fifteen and twenty during the year ended December 31, 2019. In addition, the Organization continues to publish the recordings through various online platforms, including the Digital Bible Library, YouVersion, and others.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0The executive committee consists of the President, Vice President, Board Chair, and a Board Director. The committee has the authority of the Board of Directors in the management of the Corporation. The delegation thereto of authority shall not operate to relieve the Board of Directors, or any individual Director, of any responsibility imposed on him or her by law.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1Form 990 is prepared by an independent CPA firm and reviewed in detail by the organization's top management. The reviewed Form 990 is then provided to the board of directors prior to filing with the IRS.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2Each fiscal year, all corporation representatives are required to file a statement with the Secretary of the corporation that lists their directorships, memberships, or other relationships which might cause the individual or their spouse to be biased or otherwise partial in any business or charitable matter involving the corporation. The Secretary reviews signed statements and ensures compliance with the policy. If a matter related to a potential conflict were to arise at a board meeting, the interested person would abstain from voting on matters related to the noted conflict.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt3Question 15a - The Chairman of the Board approves compensation for the CEO. Question 15b - The organization does not compensate any other officers or key employees. Therefore, this line was answered no in accordance with the instructions.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt4The organization will make available, upon written request, its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt5Foreign Currency Translation Adjustment 2,580.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt6The full Board takes responsibility for the oversight of the audit of the financial statements and the selection of the independent audit firm. This process has not changed from the prior year.
