“Provides news, commentary and information for the biosciences including agriculture and agroecology, biotechnology, ecology, plant biology, genetics, health, and food science. The organization produces three informational websites: https://bioscienceresource.org/ and https://www.independentsciencenews.org/ and https://www.poisonpapers.org/. The bioscience resource project scientists present their work at professional and public seminars, conferences, workshops and meetings. Project publications are given away free at these events. Project scientists also publish scientific reviews in the academic literature and collaborate with other not-for-profit organizations on educational projects. The three websites and the public and professional outreach, as well as occasional educational events, are provided free to the public. In this way the bioscience resource project fulfills its mission "to provide the highest quality scientific information and analysis to enable a healthy food system and a healthy world,- and its obligations as a public interest educational non-profit.”

“The organization maintains three websites, all of which provide free access to any and all individuals. The bioscience resource project (bsr)website makes important public interest science research available to the public. The resource pages are organized according to topic and give short summaries of and references and links to important scientific papers. They also provide links to other organizations and websites with related content and missions that support the organization's public interest exempt purpose. The website also provides links to copies of the scientific reviews published by bioscience resource project scientists, and access to two sets of document troves whose digitization was funded and organized by the bioscience resource project: the poison papers (2017, see description below) and the sanjour files (2018), the work files epa whistleblower, william sanjour. The website also links to selected video and radio interviews given by project scientists. Total bsr website pageviews: 21,287 in 2018. The independent science news (isn) website provides original news, commentary, analysis, and book reviews, as well as links to related news from around the internet. Articles are written by bioscience resource project scientists or other experts. The project also started an isn youtube channel, which can be accessed through the isn and bsr websites. Independent science news now has a mailing list of approximately 5,000 individuals who receive notification of new articles and videos when they are published. In 2018 isn published eight news, commentary/analysis and book review articles, compared with fifteen in 2017 and sixteen in 2016. Total isn website pageviews: 118,000 in 2018, however, isn articles are often syndicated by other online media as well. The poison papers website was launched in 2017 to showcase the poison papers, a set of important chemical industry documents whose digitization and funding were coordinated by the bioscience resource project and the center for media and democracy, to make the documents freely available to researchers, the media and the public. Total poison paper website pageviews: 24,741 in 2018.”
