Mission

The Mpambara Cox Foundation creates community based partnerships between the U.S. and Africa for the purpose of cross-cultural communication and to advance global understanding. Programs are designed to foster and deliver sustainable development solutions to alleviate poverty in Africa while encouraging the U.S. public to engage in global awareness through authentic engagement with Africa.

U.S.-Africa Schools Partnering Initiative (USASPI) - Partnering U.S. children with Ugandan children through activities that include pen-paling and travel to learn about a different socio-economic and cultural life. About 350 children on Martin Luther King Jr, Day benefitted from the program including 21 U.S. volunteers that traveled to Uganda to volunteer under the Expanding Horizons Program. USASPI advances global awareness impacting over 3000 beneficiaries in communities in the US and Kabale, Uganda.$27,992$27,992
10:30 Porridge Program - The school feeding program has expanded to include one more school for a total of 8 schools during Jan - September in which MCF provides a basic daily meal to impoverished school children. Total beneficiaries number 3000 rural school-children that have better health, increased concentration and more regular attendance because of the improved educational environment. This program is run in tandem with the Health and Wellness Program in which children undergo wellness checks.$27,000$27,219
WISE - The Women In Support of Education Initiative has grown from 20 women in 2010 to almost 450 rural Kabale women receiving microloans in support of their families and in line with our objectives to alleviate poverty by empowering the next generation. Impacting 140 households means improving the lives of over 1200 individuals through improved health, nutrition, financial literacy and a belief in self to break the cycle of poverty.$3,000$3,000
Global Fellows Program - Eight impoverished children have benefitted from secondary school scholarships that have allowed them to continue their education. The program also provides cross-cultural training, mentoring, community leadership training and computer literacy.$2,640$2,640
