By early 2011, the Hawaii Meth Project had reached teens in all four counties through classroom visits and school assemblies. Throughout the year, we expanded our outreach programs into more schools and broadened the engagement of teen volunteers and the community in meth prevention activities. Summary of 2011 outreach accomplishments: participated in 342 community events including in-school programs, county fairs and community partner events; mobilized over 240 in-school substance abuse counselors, student activities counselors, teachers and faculty; engaged more than 76,000 teens in all four counties through school and community outreach. |

As required by the uncertain tax position guidance in ASC 740, HMP recognizes the financial statement benefit of a tax position only after determining that the relevant tax authority would more likely than not sustain the position after an audit. For tax positions meeting the more-likely-than-not threshold, the amount recognized in the financial statements is the largest benefit that has a greater than 50 percent likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement with the relevant tax authority. At the adoption date, HMP applied the uncertain tax position guidance in ASC 740 to all tax positions for which the statute of limitations had remained open and has not recognized any additional liability. HMP is not subject to income taxes in the U.S. federal jurisdiction and the State. Tax regulations within each jurisdiction are subject to interpretation of the related tax laws and regulations and require significant judgement to apply. |
