Mission and Program Overview
Mission
To catalyze the energy, enthusiasm, and intellect of young people in wa state to create sustainable, positive change through our education of young people, as well as voter registration, voter turnout and leadership development programs.
Major Activities
- Activity 2
- Fellows: the washington bus education fund helped young people to develop their civic leadership skills through the annual summer fellows program. In 2011, the fellows program was a comprehensive, nine-week leadership development program for 18 to 24-year olds. Fellows learned about civics in washington state and practiced organizing skills by registering people to vote at events throughout the summer.
- Activity 3
- Pledge to vote: the washington bus education fund led a pledge to vote program to remind voters to submit their ballots for the 2011 general election in november. Volunteers engaged people at events by having them fill out a pledge to vote card, which was then mailed back to them before the general election. The pledge to vote program includes additional get out the vote efforts, encourage voters in washington state to register and vote.
