The following are the Foundation's 2017 grant recipients:Alum Rock Counseling Center, San Jose, CAThe Alum Rock Counseling Center (ARCC) delivers behavioral health services to youth, their families and individuals in neighborhoods within Santa Clara County. The Foundation's grant will support the Ocala Middle School Mentoring and Support Program. This program works with at-risk middle school youth to help them realize their full academic potential, their full behavioral health potential and gain life-skills through a variety of pathways including group and one-on-one mentoring, life skills classes, school-based counseling, parent engagement and support meetings, mentoring, after school tutoring, and enrichment activities. ARCC is a second-time grant recipient and received a grant of $3,000.Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation, San Carlos, CAThe Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation(ALCF) is devoted exclusively to eradicating lung cancer through research, awareness, education, early detection, and treatment. ALCF will use the Foundation's grant award to conduct a focused, multi-institutional genomic analysis of primary lung cancer in patients initially diagnoses under age 40. It will specifically fund the cost of bio-specimen kits (blood, tissue, DNA) used in the study. ALCF is a four-time grant recipient and received a grant of $8,000.Children's Musical Theater, San Jose, CAThe Children's Musical Theater (CMT) is the nation's largest musical theater and training program for youth of its kind. The Foundation's grant will support the Summer of CMT program, specifically, support an estimated 25 tuition scholarships for their three summer productions. The grant will also provide 250 free tickets for community groups that provide summer camp activities for underserved youth. CMT is a previous grant recipient and received a grant of $3,000.Community School of Music and Arts, Mountain View, CAThe Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) provides a bilingual (Spanish and English) preschool music and arts program at Castro, Slater and Theuerkauf Schools in Mountain View, CA.
