SurveysIn striving to become the leading source of accurate information about the Iranian American community, PAAIA commissioned Zogby International, a nationally recognized pollster, to survey Iranian American attitudes on important issues. These invaluable surveys have been presented to the United States Congress, the media and the general public to wide acclaim.

Activity 3

NexGenPAAIA NexGen is a national organization aimed at creating a network of highly talented young Iranian American professionals and students, both to support their career development as well as to create a vehicle for them to serve our communities. NexGen is structured under the umbrella of the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) and shares it's parent organization's aspiration of community building, image building and influence building.NexGen's mission:1) To build an influential national network of outstanding young Iranian Americans enabling them to form long-lasting relations that benefit them individually and collectively, empowering them to push agendas that benefit our communities.2) To celebrate our heritage, culture and history and develop a sense of generational pride.3) To build a civic-minded community that gives back to America as it has given to us.4) To reach out and partner with other organizations with synergistic objectives and leverage the broader assets to do more with more.Over 30 people are involved in the national organizing committee of NexGen that plans programs for over 500 young people who have been served and benefitted from the programs. Through the Mentor ship and Capitol Hill Internship programs we have facilitated networking and learning opportunities and increased the sense of civic duty among the young people. They have been able to network with both accomplished and like minded individuals. They have worked together to give back to the community through programs such as the Day of Service and Persian Thanks and are more aware and prouder of their heritage, able to communicate it and stand up for it because of the programs we have offered.
