“Independent CPA prepares draft of form 990 and submits to the Executive Director. Any needed changes are communicated to the CPA for inclusion in the final forms. A copy of the final 990 is made available to all Board members.”

“The conflict of interest policy is provided to each Trustee upon nomination. A conflict of interest disclosure form is also provided to each trustee annually who completes, signs and returns the form to the CFO. The CFO reviews each form. Any noted conflicts are brought to the attention of the President of the Board. All conflicts are then brought before the entire Board for discussion and appropriate corrective action.”

“The compensation is determined by the Board of Directors based on the average salary paid to those who manage similar non-profit organizations. Additionally, the managerial experience and availability of qualified persons with the appropriate cultural background are also considered.”

“The following organizational documents of PAAIA Fund are available for inspection or copying at the organization's office during normal business hours at no charge, except for a nominal copying fee:1) Tax Exemption Application2) IRS Determination letter3) Articles of Incorporation4) By-Laws5) Form 990 for the most recent and prior two years. The public inspection copy of the Form 990 will not include Schedule A excess contributors or the Schedule B.The most updated versions of all of the preceding forms will be available.When responding to a public inspection request for any organizational document or Form 990 by anyone, PAAIA Fund will fulfill such request in a timely fashion without inquiring as to the reason for the public inspection request.”

“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Cyrus CylinderIn collaboration with a number of PAAIA members, PAAIA co-sponsored the Cyrus Cylinder exhibition in San Francisco (August 9 September 22). PAAIA worked with the museums, local organizations, and others to develop unique programs at the Asian Art Museum and in the Bay Area that celebrate both the Cyrus Cylinder and our ancient heritage. Over 32,000 individuals visited the exhibition in San Francisco and attended multiple lectures on the importance of the cylinder as an iconic relic and a message of human rights and democracy. The tour and accompanying materials allowed PAAIA to meet its image and community building goals, providing a more accurate image of Iran and Iranian Americans and allowing our community to come together around a commonly and universally accepted declaration of human rights. In addition, PAAIA worked with members of congress to introduce the Cyrus Cylinder Resolution, which supported our influence building pillar. In addition to commemorating the tour of the cylinder throughout the U.S., the resolution recognizes the cultural and historical significance of Nowruz and acknowledges the hopes and aspirations of all people, including the people of Iran, for human rights and religious tolerance as embodied by the cylinder.”
