Mission

A place for hope operates a community center in the blackmon road neighborhood. We assist in addressing the basic needs of the residents by offering restroom, shower and laundry facilities. We also offer a free after school and summer program for children of all ages.

Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12C

Any disclosures of conflicts of interest or potential conflicts of interest are brought before all disinterested members of the board of directors, who vote to determine whether a conflict of interest exists, and if so, take appropriate action. The disinterested board members are authorized to impose, by majority vote, reasonable sanctions to permit recovery of costs against a staff-member, officer, volunteer or board member for damages resulting from failure to disclose conflicts of interest. An individual charged with conflict of interest shall have the opportunity for appeal and review of the board's decision. A copy of this policy is given to all staff, officers, volunteers, and board members upon commencement of that person's relationship to the center.

The board of directors hires an executive director to act as chief executive. The executive director is directly responsible to the board of directors. The board of directors annually evaluate the executive director. Any salary increases for the executive director are moved, seconded, and carried by the board and documented in the meeting minutes. The executive director is responsible for hiring, orienting, training, and supervising the center's professional staff.
