“The ucsd alumni association is organzied and operated to foster a beneficial relationship between the alumni and students with the university of california, san diego campus.employees, salary and benefitsall ucsd alumni associationstaff are employees of the university of california and receive salary and bnefits from the university. Ucsd alumni association employees are also eligible to participate in the 403(b) plan which is managed by the regents of the university of california. Similarly the ucsd alumni associations operating costs, space and facility needs are provided by the uc san diego campus free of charge, as a supporting organization in compliance with the university of california policy. Contributionsthe ucsd alumni association soliticits gifts in conjunction with its fundraising activities. The uc san diego foundation is the primary depository of the docations received byt eh alumni association. Gifts processed by the uc san diego foundation on behalf of the alumni association include 100% tax deductible donations plus memberships and special event proceeds in which a portion of the contributions recieved may include quid pro quo items.expenses certain operating expenses of the association included in this return are subsidized by the university of california. The subsidy attributable to the operating are included in indirect public support.”
