Activity 2

Education - the museum's center for learning and innovation provides two, four and six-hour "family literacy projects on a budget" professional development training for early educators (teachers, children's librarians, home care child providers, after school practitioners, scout leaders and others). The museum provides continuing education units (ceus) for maryland participants approved by the maryland state department of education for the train-the-trainer workshops. Additionally, the museum secures ceus from other jurisdictions to provide credit when teaching outside of maryland.

Activity 3

Museum without walls - through 2013, the museum is operating as a "museum without walls", participating in a variety of community events and working with other arts and cultural organizations to develop creative partnerships that benefit kids and families. From advocating an active lifestyle through a "parachute play zone" at nickelodeon's "worldwide day of play", to promoting healthy habits with "healthy food on my mind" crowns at the white house easter egg roll, to offering family-friendly programming at local festivals, the museum maintains an active role in the greater d.c. Community. In addition, the museum offers educational programming at the "launch zone" in national harbor, md to sustain a consistent role in the community
