“Ballet programs: dance alive, inc. Has been on florida's touring program since 1976. This state program helps many communities considered by florida department of cultural affairs to be underserved in the arts to be able to bring our company in at a reduced cost. Last year we served the following communities: boca raton, boynton beach, bristol, coconut creek, deerfield beach, ft. Lauderdale, ft. Myers, huntington pointe, huntington lakes, lake city, lake sumter, lake worth, madison, pembrooke pines, west palm beach and the villages in florida; decorah, iowa, hartford, wisconsin and in georgia. We also benefit the children of these areas through community nutcrackers. The executive artistic director goes to the community and auditions and trains local children for the children's parts in the nutcracker. These communities are considered underserved by the state of florida and provide children and their families a great experience. A number of the venues we perform for are in senior communities. In ft. Lauderdale we present eight school shows serving over 3,400 children.”

“Ballet programs: outreach- there are four outreach programs: dancin' is a program that provides opportunities for young dancers to perform in a variety of venues such as arts festivals, retirement facilities and schools. It also provides an opportunity for older students to create work and set it on their colleagues. Ages range from 8-17. Dance partners is a program designed to bring at-risk or disadvantaged persons and troubled youth to mainstage productions at no cost to the individual. Dance alive works with united way and the state of florida department of children and families to provide for their clients. This program serves over 1,500 annually. Discovering dance, "the mainstage experience" is a program whereby children from alachua and 14 surrounding counties are brought to daytime professional mainstage productions at the phillips center for the performing arts as well as directly to the schools. Over 3,500 students are served annually. Senior moments, is a program designed to provide life-long learning activities for seniors. Dance alive presents lecture/demonstrations, performances, seminars and meet and greets for 3 senior facilities in gainesville, fl.”
