“The park slope civic council, inc is governed by a board of volunteer trustees that meet ten times a year in open sessions to hear and discuss neighborhood concerns. At a special membership meeting on april 7, 2022, the members adopted amended by-laws. The primary changes from the prior by-laws included: 1) the corporate purposes now align more closely with the organization's current mission statement 2) the officers are no longer elected by the full membership, but rather by the trustees (who themselves are elected by the membership) 3) the roles and responsibilities of officers, trustees and committee chairs are more delineated 4) the procedure approving events, sponsorships and expenditures is defined more explicitly to conform with the prior generally understood, but written, practice. The name of the organization was not changed.”
