FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

Our mission for the past 40 years has been to protect "a few special places...in trust for the future." the places we strive to protect include the blue ridge escarpment - the magnificent "blue wall," key upstate south carolina rivers, waterfalls and riparian resources and other important natural areas. We accomplish this by working with landowners, other land trusts, government agencies and foundations to secure title, conservation easements or other protected status in perpetuity for these important natural lands and resources.

Station state park. Naturaland trust will donate this property to the state. 3. Buckallew tract this property protects wetlands along the reedy river near downtown greenville. This property was purchaed and sold in fiscal year ending march 31, 2018. 4. Summersett/furman face this property protects the viewshed of paris mountain and a large block of forest. Eventually we will build on this property to connect with the state park. 5. Pratt/dug hill this tract expandes the protected buffer along the nc/sc border an builds upon decades of conservation work near landrum. 6. Pacolet/milliken this tract has been on our radar for years. We purchased it to form a large protective corridor from the piedmont to the escarpment. 7. Grubbs/north saluda this property protects a large floodplain and hardwood forest along the north saluda river, one of our major focus areas. 8. Greylogs this property was sold to sc department of parks & recreation. This property will help the state park create a new parking area to keep visitors safe from parking on the road in ceasars head state park. 9. Renewable water resources sewer tunnel right away/easement reedy river tract this property was sold to rewa. This helps rewa make sure that their systems are safer through a sewer tunnel instead of going over the reedy river. The following parcel was received as a donation: 1. Cedar rock this property will eventually connect into jones gap state park.

Nauraland trust coordinates its monitoring of conservation easements with its partner, upstate forever. The expenses of upholding these easements is diffused amongst the two organizations, consisting mstly of mileage costs for driving. Upstate forever has a clear written policy and guidelines for monitoring, which naturaland follows.

Schedule D, Page 1, Part II, Line 9

Intangible assets comprised of listed rights and/or restrictions over the owned property that are conveyed by a property owner to the trust, in perpetuity, in order to protect the owned property as a significant natural area. These intangible assets may be sold or transferred to others so long as the assignee agrees to carry out, in perpetuity, the conservation purposes intended by the original grantor. Contributed conservation easements held by the trust are not recorded because easements do not represent economic assets or resources. The general practice of the trust is to convey all future easements to a third party. Purchased conservation easements are expensed on the date purchased.

PERSIMMON RIDGE RD TRACT B/WAY THIS PROPERTY HELPS TO CONTROL THE FUTURE OF THE POND ON SLICKUM CREEK AN FILL IN AN IMPORTANT GAP IN EVA CHANDLER HERITAGE PRESERVE. 2. OCONEE VILLAGE-TODD FAMILY FARMS LP THIS PROPERTY PROTECTS A MAJOR CHEROKEE VILLAGE AND EXPANDS THE OCONEE STATION STATE PARK. NATURALAND TRUST WILL DONATE THIS PROPERTY TO THE STATE. 3. BUCKALLEW TRACT THIS PROPERTY PROTECTS WETLANDS ALONG THE REEDY RIVER NEAR DOWNTOWN GREENVILLE. THIS PROPERTY WAS PURCHAED AND SOLD IN FISCAL YEAR ENDING MARCH 31, 2018. 4. SUMMERSETT/FURMAN FACE THIS PROPERTY PROTECTS THE VIEWSHED OF PARIS MOUNTAIN AND A LARGE BLOCK OF FOREST. EVENTUALLY WE WILL BUILD ON THIS PROPERTY TO CONNECT WITH THE STATE PARK. 5. PRATT/DUG HILL THIS TRACT EXPANDES THE PROTECTED BUFFER ALONG THE NC/SC BORDER AN BUILDS UPON DECADES OF CONSERVATION WORK NEAR LANDRUM. 6. PACOLET/MILLIKEN THIS TRACT HAS BEEN ON OUR RADAR FOR YEARS. WE PURCHASED IT TO FORM A LARGE PROTECTIVE CORRIDOR FROM THE PIEDMONT TO THE ESCARPMENT. 7. GRUBBS/NORTH SALUDA THIS PROPERTY PROTECTS A LARGE FLOODPLAIN AND HARDWOOD FOREST ALONG THE NORTH SALUDA RIVER, ONE OF OUR MAJOR FOCUS AREAS. 8. GREYLOGS THIS PROPERTY WAS SOLD TO SC DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION. THIS PROPERTY WILL HELP THE STATE PARK CREATE A NEW PARKING AREA TO KEEP VISITORS SAFE FROM PARKING ON THE ROAD IN CEASARS HEAD STATE PARK. 9. RENEWABLE WATER RESOURCES SEWER TUNNEL RIGHT AWAY/EASEMENT REEDY RIVER TRACT THIS PROPERTY WAS SOLD TO REWA. THIS HELPS REWA MAKE SURE THAT THEIR SYSTEMS ARE SAFER THROUGH A SEWER TUNNEL INSTEAD OF GOING OVER THE REEDY RIVER. THE FOLLOWING PARCEL WAS RECEIVED AS A DONATION: 1.
