Bible and Literature DistributionIn 2011, more than 3.1 million pieces of literature were distributed worldwide including: Bibles, Children's Bibles, training materials and other Christian materials. Bible and literature requests came from the Persecuted Church in almost 50 countries. Restrictions in many countries are so severe there are few opportunities for open discipleship and training. That is why Open Doors has increased its efforts to train pastors and leaders. As a result, we expect to see the requests for training materials continue to increase and requests for Bibles to remain flat or slightly decrease in 2012.

Activity 3

Public AwarenessOpen Doors in 2011 completed the 4th half-hour TV program titled, "Undercover with Persecuted Christians - interview with a Terrorist" which aired on several Christian networks to over 4 million viewable households. The book "The Privelege of Persecution" was published and over 50 interviews and articles were produced as a result. Over one million online readers had an opportunity to read the articles and interviews. We launched a public awareness campaign titled "One with Them" with over 125,000 wristbands identifying with the persecuted church being given away or sold which resulted in over 16,000 new names to the ministry. The goal of our Public Awareness and motivation program is to help believers in the U.S. to identify with threatened and persecuted Christians by becoming involved and assisting them in one or more ways, specifically through praying, hearing their stories, and then eventually giving monetary support, and participating in advocacy campaigns and other activities.
