Key programs include After School Art, a longstanding partnership with Durango School District 9R; Girls Opportunities through Arts and Leadership (GOAL), which focuses on confidence and skill-building for middle school girls; DAC Docents, who impacted 2,024 people through presentations in area schools, senior centers and community organizations; and Creativity Festivity-a 22-year partnership with Durango 9R that celebrates art and artists of our local schools. Creativity Festivity spans two weeks in late spring, and features an exhibit, high school poetry slam and a theatrical performance produced by students of the Applause program. Total audience engagement is estimated at 4,000 for this event, and in 2015 it was awarded a Healthy Seal of Approval from the Celebrating Healthy Communities Coalition. |
