Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

FORM 990, PART XII, LINE 2C:

The process of oversight over the audited financial statements and selection of the independent auditor has not changed since the prior year.

Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

On december 12, 2001, the center received an endowment fund for the benefit of the center. Net assets associated with the endowment are classified and reported based on the existence of board-designated restrictions. The endowment is expected to distribute annually 5% of the total market value based on a twelve-quarter rolling market value average, while maintaining the purchasing power of the assets over the long-term.

PART X, LINE 2:

The center is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. It is also exempt from california income taxes. Accordingly, no provision for federal or california income taxes is included in the accompanying financial statements. Asc topic 740, income taxes, prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for the financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, and provides guidance on derecognition, classification, interest and penalties, disclosure, and transition. Management believes that no such uncertain tax positions exist for the center at june 30, 2019.
