From time-to-time, certain directors have business relationships with other directors, that are unrelated to the organization's activities.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 11B: Form 990 Review Process

After the board has approved the financial statements, the form 990 is completed by the preparer and submitted to management. The document is reviewed by management and is then distributed to the board for review. Any comments or questions are presented to management which communicates the issue directly to the preparer.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 15B: Compensation Review and Approval Process for Officers and Key Employees

There is a standing "compensation committee" of the board that meets as needed to review the compensation of the president and ceo and other highly compensated employees. Comparability data including 990's from other non-profits and salary survey data is provided to the committee by the president and ceo. Performance data is also provided by the president and ceo to the committee as well as his recommendations, along with the ability to pay. The compensation committee together with the president and ceo will present their recommendations to the full board for their consideration. The president and ceo and his/her staff are asked to leave the meeting when his/her compensation is discussed.

Other program services 4: creating opportunities for seniors - provides in-home and community center-based support services to the elderly and their care givers. Meals on wheels and respite programs contribute to senior's quality of life in the home environment and senior citizen centers offer lunch and enrichment activities. Other program services 5: empower through employment and education-offers a wide variety of vocational and supportive services to homeless individuals in nassau county. Work with participants to set up individualized employment plans that will assist them in becoming gainfully employed. Also helps cultivate and enforce positive driving skills and responsibilities among teens as well as establish a partnership between parent/guardian and their teen drivers through workshops.
