“Form 990 review process the audit committee of the school met and reviewed the form 990 and related schedules with brite's finance department. The audit committee approved the form 990 and related schedules as presented. Finally, a pdf file of the form 990 and related schedules was made available to each trustee electronically for their review prior to the filing. Trustees were encouraged to contact the finance department with any questions.”

“Conflict of interest policy brite has a conflict of interest policy which is reviewed and revised annually to comply with current regulations. This policy notes relationships and transactions that may give rise to a conflict of interest or the appearance thereof. It describes the means for notifying the school's adminstration or board of trustees of known potential conflicts, which is done in writing on an annual basis. These written notifications, along with any other potential conflicts that arise, are reviewed by management, and adjustments are made to committee assignments as needed. Additionally, voting privileges are discussed with trustees, as necessary, to comply with the policy and avoid any appearance of conflict. When a conflict or potential conflict exists, the affected person shall abstain from voting or acting upon the pertinent item, withdraw from the meeting, and abstain from partcipating in or informally influencing the decision-making process except to provide factual information upon request.”

“Executive compensation as of october 2022, through december 31, 2023, brite had an interim president whose salary was established and paid through the agency based on the school's needs. Form 990, part vi, section b, line 15b: officer compensation the president conducts annual peformance evaluations of the executive vice president and dean, the vice president for business and finance, and the vice president for advancement. Compensation of these officers is compared to industry data published by the association of theological schools and is determined by the president on the basis of the performance evaluations and budgetary constraints. The president maintains personnel files for the paid officers of the corporation. These files include annual reviews as discussed with and signed by the employee.”

“Brite divinity school educates and inspires people to serve god's diverse world as leaders in churches, the academy and public life. Approximately 143 individuals from more than 32 different denominations and 5 countries across the globe attend brite. Degrees offered include master of divinity (m.div.), master of arts in theology and ministry (m.a.t.m.), master of theological studies (m.t.s.), master of theology (th.m.), doctor of ministry (d.min.), doctor of philosophy (ph.d.), as well as collaborative degrees with the neeley school of business at tcu (m.div./m.b.a., m.a.t.m./m.b.a. And m.t.s./m.b.a.) and the tcu department of social work (m.div./m.s.w., m.a.t.m./m.s.w., and m.t.s./m.s.w.). Brite also offers seven certificate programs that can be incorporated into the m.div., m.t.s., m.a.t.m. And certificate of theological studies programs. Essential to and in support of the degree programs and faculty research is our library with over 178,000 printed volumes and 49,000 bound periodicals, plus e-books, journals and related indices. All faculty members have a terminal degree in their field. A long-term goal of the school has been to make theological education affordable and accessible.”
