Promote and support the improvement of major hospital (mhp) and the services provided. Provide financial assistance for the improvement of the health, safety, and general welfare of major hospital patients. Aid and promote education and scientific research in the advancement of knowledge relating to the discovery, prevention, and treatment of disease. Aid and promote the care and treatment of the sick, aged, and helpless patients of major hospital.
PROMOTE IMPROVEMENT OF MAJOR HOSPITAL AND THE SERVICES PROVIDED. PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE HEALTH, SAFETY, AND GENERAL WELFARE OF MAJOR HOSPITAL PATIENTS. AID AND PROMOTE EDUCATION AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN THE ADVANCEMENT OF KNOWLEDGE RELATING TO THE DISCOVERY, PREVENTION, AND TREATMENT OF DISEASE. AID AND PROMOTE THE CARE AND TREATMENT OF THE SICK, AGED, AND HELPLESS PATIENTS OF MAJOR HOSPITAL. During 2015, the Foundation completed the campaign to help fund the relacepment hospital facility, raising $1,215,288 in 2015 alone. The multi-year goal was reached, and overall, the Foundation will be contributing roughtly $4.5 million to the project.

“The Executive Committee is appointed by the foundation board president and is to include the Hospital CEO and representative to the foundation board from the hospital board. Note that president is ex-officio member of all committees. Committee has up to six members, not including the board president. The powers of the executive committee include transacting routine business of the Board between meetings, excluding the adoption of the budget or any action that is contrary to or a substantial departure from the direction of the board, or which represents a major change in the affairs, business, or policy of the organization. They may also act for the Board in a crisis, taking only short-term measures until the next meeting of the board. All business conducted between board meetings or during a crisis is subject to ratification by the entire board at regular meetings. Business conducted by the executive committee will be listed in the consent agenda. The board will also be notified within 24 hours of any action taken by the executive committee. To transact routine business between meetings or to act for the Board in a crisis, the hospital CEO, the Foundation board president, and the representative from the hospital board must be present.”

Both Trusts, now funds, WILL REMAIN IN A PERMANENT ENDOWMENTs WITH MAJOR HOSPITAL FOUNDATION AND their PURPOSEs WILL REMAIN THE SAME for which they were INITIALLY CREATED.”
“Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require management to evaluate tax positions taken by mhp (and their affiliates) and recognize a tax liability if mhp has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by various federal and state taxing authorities. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by mhp and has concluded that as of december 31, 2015 and december 31, 2014, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the accompanying consolidated financial statements. Mhp is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress.”

The You are Not Alone Fund was accessed in the amount of $5,235 to assist 21 cancer patients in need at Benesse Oncology Center with day to day living expenses and certain medical expenses not covered by insurance. The Prescription Assistance program provided $4,891 in assistance to 39 patients as a bridge for patients who needed prescriptions but could not afford them when they left the hospital. This program makes sure that patients have their prescriptions while case managers work to find long term assistance, thus avoiding costly and preventable re-admissions. The Patient and Family Support Fund spent $9,520 on small healthcare related items that helped patients through recovery and/or reduced stress during their stay. |
