“MPMA advocates for excellence in the museums field, provides a communication forum between memebers, and shares creative learning opportunities with diverse regional audiences. Achievement 1: Mountain-Plains Museums Association advanced professional practice and regional collaboration by delivering its annual in-person conference for 160+ members, featuring workshops and expert-led lectures to strengthen museum operations and share best practices. The association also published 12 newsletters to keep 695 active members informed and connected across the Mountain/Plains region and represented the interests of member museums nationally through the American Alliance of Museums. Achievement 2: MPMA provides scholarships that help individuals attend the Annual Conference, with past support benefiting students, emerging professionals, mid-career professionals, and Tribal professionals. Achievement 3: MPMA maintains a Job Bank that allows institutional and business members to post openings at no charge and requires job listings to include compensationsupporting more equitable hiring practices and easier career mobility across the region.”

“Mountain-Plains Museums Association is primarily funded through general public memberships and not donations. As such, the Sch. B typically associated with public charity nonprofit entities does not apply. No Sch. B will be presented with this Form 990-EZ filing. The Finance Committee and the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors receives a copy of Form 990-EZ for a full review prior to the forms filing. Mountain-Plains Museums Association distributes to each trustee and officer an annual statement which allows individuals the opportunity to declare any potential conflicts of interest. The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors reviews the compensation of the Executive Director at a meeting each year or as needed for continued operations. The decisions and actions of the Mountain-Plains Museums Associations Board of Directors are not subject to approval by general membership unless it is a legally required vote of the membership body as it relates to bylaws and formation documentation updates. Mountain-Plains Museums Association makes its Form 990 (or any version of the Form type) publically available upon written request. Mountain-Plains Museums Association makes all governing documents, conflict of interest policy, financial statements, and other policies and procedures available to the public upon written request. Mountain-Plains Museums Association contemporaneously documents all meetings of the govering body and its subcommittees.”
