De - lead - since 2001 de-lead delaware has made over 500 homes safer for children, pregnant women, and families by reducing the hazards of lead-based paint. Funded by the u.s. Department of housing and urban development (hud), and in partnership with the delaware division of public health (dph) and the city of wilmington, de-lead delaware has been a pivotal tool in making our neighborhoods a safe and healthy place to live. Residents and landlords benefit greatly from this program. We begin with a free inspection to assess the risks of lead-based paint hazards in your home. Based on the results of that assessment, we then remedy the situation spending up to 12,000 per unit to make a home safer from the hazards of lead-based paint. All of this is done at no cost to the beneficiary.

Activity 3

Family youth and support services - the youth development center seeks to offer a safe environment where children can learn and grow while having fun. Our services focus on complementing a child's educational experience at school. We provide tutoring and homework help and a variety of enrichment activities like computers, music, arts and crafts and gym. As youth participate in our programs they will find a place to make lasting friendships, to relate to, and trust adults that will show them respect, and guide them in making positive choices and develop into responsible adults. Family resource coordinators (fsca) help participants in developing their goals and carrying out specific steps towards achieving them.
