Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Equal measure's mission is as follows: we help our clients shift systems, policies, and practices to make communities stronger, healthier, more equitable, and more inclusive. For more than 30 years, we have partnered with those working on complex, often messy social issues-such as improving access to education, addressing health disparities, and revitalizing neighborhoods-to help create more powerful, enduring systems change. We are program designers and evaluators; capacity builders and technical assistance providers; and communications professionals who know the value of narrative change. We balance passion with pragmatism, thought leadership with self-reflection and humility, and rigor with flexibility. And we are committed to upholding diversity, equity, and inclusion inside our organization, across our five customized service lines and in every engagement.

Equal measure is a 25-person, philadelphia-based professional services nonprofit focused on helping our clients-foundations, nonprofit organizations, and public entities-create more powerful, equitable, and enduring systems and outcomes.as the social sector has evolved, so has our approach to working with clients. In a climate marked by increasingly complex social change investments, programs that require wide-ranging organizational capacities, and demands for more thoughtful strategies to address ingrained structural barriers to equity, we are well-positioned to serve our clients. To have a more direct impact with our clients, we offer five service lines-program design, evaluation, capacity building, technical assistance, and communications. Through these services, we help our clients clarify program goals, support implementation, engage in learning and plan improvement, conduct mixed method developmental evaluations, and frame narratives to have the strongest impact.
