Method to record the works of art works of art acquired either through purchase or donation are not capitalized. Accordingly, the cost of collection items purchased is reported as a decrease in net assets and proceeds from the sale of collection items are reported as an increase in net assets.

PART III, LINE 4:

How to further the museum's exempt purpose the museum collects both historic and contemporary works by artists from the delaware valley. The collection serves as the core resource for the myriad exhibitions that educate the community about the region's artistic heritage. As the principal resource for information about and research on internationally known delaware valley artists, the museum actively collects archival materials and maintains research files on more than 1,500 regional artists of all creative disciplines.

Intended use of the museum's endowment funds the endowments provide financial support for collection care, acquisition, and other purposes.

Uncertain tax positions under asc 740 gaap requires entities to evaluate, measure, recognize and disclose any uncertain tax positions. Gaap prescribes a minimum threshold that a tax position is required to meet in order to be recognized in the financial statements. The museum believes that it had no uncertain tax positions as defined in gaap.
