With the exception of the Holy Redeemer Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and Holy Redeemer Active and Retirement Living (HRARL, Inc.), all entities are not-for-profit corporations as described in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. In conformity with the internal revenue code and applicable state and local tax statutes, taxable income or loss of the ASC is required to be reported in the tax returns of the owners and, accordingly, no provision has been made in the accompanying consolidated financial statements for any federal, state, or local income taxes. HRARL, Inc. recorded provisions for federal, state, and local taxes of $304 for each of the years ended June 30, 2014 and 2013.”

The guidance clarifies the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entitys financial statements. The guidance further prescribes recognition and measurement of tax provisions taken or expected to be taken on a tax return that are not certain to be realized. The application of this standard has no impact on Holy Redeemers consolidated financial statements. Holy Redeemers tax returns are subject to review and examination by federal, state and local authorities. The tax returns for the years 2011 through 2013 are open to examination by federal, state and local authorities. With the exception of the Holy Redeemer Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and Holy Redeemer Active and Retirement Living (HRARL, Inc.), all entities are not-for-profit corporations as described in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. In conformity with the internal revenue code and applicable state and local tax statutes, taxable income or loss of the ASC is required to be reported in the tax returns of the owners and, accordingly, no provision has been made in the accompanying consolidated financial statements for any federal, state, or local income taxes. HRARL, Inc. recorded provisions for federal, state, and local taxes of $304 for each of the years ended June 30, 2014 and 2013. |
