“The association's efforts were focused around developing a strategic plan which we hope to finalize in the summer of 2015. Building professional partnerships remains one of our active goals. We are participants in other states and national level conversations about the purpose of art in public education. We work with the eplc (the education leadership and policy center, http://www.eplc.org/), paen (pensylvania arts education network http://www.artseducationpa.org/americans for the arts), naea (the national art education association), as well as numerous colleges, universities, and public schools across the state of pennsylvania, where our regional and division directors provide workshops for professional development. 2014 was an important year for forging new partnerships with the western pa conservancy, who serve as the guardians of the frank lloyd wright fallingwater estate. Paea held its annual fall conference at the seven spring resort, and we were able offer exclusive tours of fallingwater to conference participants, as well as professional development sessions from the education curator at fallingwater, among many other presenters.”
