“The pennsylvania art education association actively supports and promotes visual art education through professional development, leadership and service.”

“The paea board of directors reviewed and amended our constitution and by- laws through several face-to-face meetings. Regionally, paea offers professional development for art educators. We work with the eplc (the education leadership and policy center, http://www.eplc.org/), paen (pennsylvania arts educationnetwork http://www.artseducationpa.org/ americans for the arts), naea (the national art education association), as well as numerous colleges, universities, and k-12 schools across the state of pennsylvania. The paea 2017 conference was held in pittsburgh and hosted over 300 art educators. The conference featured approximately 90 sessions, hands-on workshops, museum tours, and art education related vendors. Art educators created a ceramic mural in collaboration with the manchester craftsmans guild which was later installed in the pa department of education building - a visual reminder of the importance of the arts in education.”

“At the summer 2017 board meeting, the board of directors continued the work of enacting tasks related to the 2015-2018 strategic plan, such as improving our branding and communications via our website and social media.
