“The Fire Dept furnishes the community with an annual report of its activities and accomplishments;The Fire Dept provides standby ambulance/EMT at Letchworth Central School sporting events;The Fire Dept assigns EMTs to the Fire Depts booth its assigned time slot at the Wyoming County Fair. EMTs are available to provide first aid services;The Fire Dept mans a government command post;The Fire Dept makes the fire hall available for the wakes of past members;The Fire Dept provides a scholarship to a Letchworth Central School graduating senior;The Fire Dept send holiday thank yous to dispatchers, hospital ER staff, Sheriffs and US officials;Fire Prevention for Lockwood Elementary; Recruiting for Letchworth JR & SR classes. They work with the kids to give them a chance to see what it is like to be a Fire Fighter, including water rescues. Gainesville FD organizes this program every year but all surrounding FD are included.”
